WAYS TO GIVE

Your Gift Makes a Difference

At SCADD, a 501(c)(3) organization, donations play a vital role in empowering us to provide essential services and support to our clients. Contributions from our community allow us to offer comprehensive programs that address the diverse needs of individuals facing challenges related to substance use, mental health, and recovery. Each donation helps fund critical resources, such as counseling, educational workshops, housing support, and therapeutic services. These services assist clients on their recovery journey and enable them to rebuild their lives, reconnect with their families, and reintegrate into society. The impact of every dollar donated goes beyond immediate relief—it creates a lasting legacy, fosters hope, and strengthens the entire community.

By supporting SCADD, you become a part of a network committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need.

Legacy Giving

Legacy giving, or planned giving, allows you to make a contribution that transcends your lifetime. Through thoughtful estate planning, you can designate SCADD as a beneficiary of

your will, trust, retirement account, or life insurance policy.

This type of giving not only ensures the continuation of SCADD’s life-saving programs but can also offer significant financial and tax benefits to you and your heirs.

Qualified Charitable Distributions

As you approach retirement, your 401(k) or IRA savings become a critical source of income. Your gift to SCADD through a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) can transform

lives while giving you the tax benefits of reducing your taxable income. However, once you reach the age of 73 (previously 70½), the IRS requires you to take Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs) from your tax-deferred retirement accounts. While these withdrawals can provide valuable income, they can also increase your taxable income. Fortunately, there’s a smart way to reduce your tax liability while giving back: donating your RMDs to charity.
