Pathways to recovery begin with you.

At SCADD, our culture is rooted in purpose. Every member of our team plays a vital role in helping individuals and families find their path to recovery.

We believe that meaningful work starts with a supportive environment. That’s why we foster a team-oriented culture where collaboration, compassion, and respect guide everything we do. Our multidisciplinary team is committed to delivering high-quality care while supporting one another along the way.

A Workplace Built on Respect

We are dedicated to creating an inclusive, professional workplace where every individual feels valued. SCADD embraces diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences across our workforce and the communities we serve.

Our culture is grounded in:

  • Respect for every individual
  • Collaboration across teams
  • Accountability in our work
  • A shared commitment to our mission

We maintain fair hiring, training, and advancement practices and do not tolerate discrimination or harassment in any form.

Honoring the Land We Serve

SCADD acknowledges that our programs and facilities are located on the ancestral tribal territories of the Mashantucket Pequot, Eastern Pequot, Mohegan, and Western Nehântick Peoples, who have stewarded these lands and waters for generations.

We honor the enduring relationship between these Tribal Nations and this land, and we strive to carry forward a responsibility of care, respect, and community.

This acknowledgment was written in collaboration with the Mashantucket Pequot Elders Council on August 18, 2023.

Recovery Friendly Workplace

SCADD is proud to be recognized by the State of Connecticut as a Recovery Friendly Workplace.

We are committed to maintaining both a substance-free and stigma-free environment. We recognize substance use disorder as a medical condition and believe recovery is strengthened through understanding, support, and access to resources.

Our commitment includes:

  • Encouraging employees to seek support without fear of stigma
  • Providing access to recovery resources and services
  • Offering education and training on substance use and recovery
  • Supporting individuals and families affected by substance use
  • Promoting employment opportunities for individuals in recovery
  • Providing reasonable accommodations in accordance with state and federal law
