Welcome to SCADD

Welcome to SCADD, the Southeastern Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Inc. Taking the first step toward recovery takes courage, and we are honored to be part of your journey. Since 1966, SCADD has supported individuals and families throughout Southeastern Connecticut with compassionate, respectful, and evidence-based care.

You are not alone. Our team is here to listen, support, and help you take the next step forward.

Who We Serve & Our Approach to Care

SCADD serves adults seeking support for substance use disorders. We believe recovery looks different for everyone and that treatment should be person-centered, trauma-informed, and grounded in dignity and respect.

Our approach to care is built on:

  • Respect for each individual’s lived experience
  • Confidential, nonjudgmental support
  • Collaboration between clients and care teams
  • A focus on safety, stability, and long-term recovery

Getting Started: Your First Call & Intake

Reaching out can feel overwhelming. When you contact SCADD, you will speak with a trained staff member who is there to help.

During your first call, we may ask:

  • Basic contact information
  • Questions about substance use and current needs
  • Insurance or payment information (if available)

Together, we will determine next steps and the most appropriate level of care. There is no obligation to begin treatment—our goal is to provide information, support, and options.

You can call 860-447-1717 option 1 to get started.
